C# is a modern programming language from Microsoft which was developed to address various domains as that of client-server, distributed and web based application development. It was developed by Microsoft under it’s .NET initiative and approved as Ecma (ECMA-334) and ISO (ISO/IEC 23270:2006) standard. C# had been designed for the Common Language Infrastructure. The most recent version is C# 5.0 released on August 15, 2012.

C# is an object-oriented programming language and can also be used as  functional, procedural, and component-oriented programming language for requisite development.

The software code written in C# is compiled to machine code and used in combination with the .NET framework thus, requiring the installation of the .NET framework. .
