Information for an organization is most critical. If the information is right it can lead and organization to grow in right direction. But when the organization works on inconsistent, improper, and wrong information, it misguides the goal and objective of project. The relevance in between the objective and the information need to accomplish the same is most important. Either you bring a new product or improve the existing product you need to have some focused pertinent information. And process to gather such information may be organization specific protocol or might be derived from some standards. Some of the methods which help in gathering focused relevant information are listed below.

  • Ask “what” we need and “why”. To gather information, first one must focus what is the task they want to achieve. When the “what” is clear from the problem the next step is to analysis is that is it really needed, i.e the “why” portion. When the “what” and “why” is clear of project, it may be achieved easily.
  • Understand current business technology and terminology properly. This will help you focus on the object of project and inform you about the current product or system properly.
  • Develop some prototype before actually starting up the production or development of project. A prototype gives an early idea about the product to the end user or customer so most of the flaws can be identified during this stage. But one must understand that the picture of prototype is just for an idea and is not an actual end product. So the expectations from prototype must not be as high as from original product. The prototype gathers information from end user about the product which helps in future improvement and development of product.
  • Prepare some diagrammatical solution, which can be easily understand by end user and help you to gather more and more information from end user about the task.

Some Characteristic Of FOCUSED PERTINENT INFORMATION

  • The information is always relevant to the product and is in right direction. If the information if focused, this means it is goal oriented and will always be accurate.
  • Since the information is focused and is gathered after so much of research, it will be reliable. Also it is related to the single product so it one can rely on such information.
  • The information must contain the requirement and every detail related that requirement so that it can help in taking correct business decision.
