ERP stands for Enterprises Resource Planning, plays an important role in Business Intelligence as it form one single system which integrates both the Data and the Processes of an organization. An ERP system is combination of Software, Hardware and the Database. Thus an ERP system is capable for storing data in different functions according to organization divisions and needs, so that in future is return fast result to any business query.

Earlier the ERP system define how large an enterprise is, but now a days every organization implements ERP system weather its small, large. In front of small organization there is always a problem deciding which ERP software they must implement in their organization. Thus for small organization, they must consider an ERP software which fulfill at least two or more systems functionality of organization.

  • ERP system works on functional modules thus they have high efficiency and productivity.

  • ERP system provides customer oriented services.
  • ERP systems are cost effective.

Disadvantage of ERP System

  • Skilled employees are needed to handle the ERP system.
  • It’s hard to customize the ERP processes.
  • ERP processes sometime redefine the organization business processes.

So maybe the best way to start an ERP conversation is with a consolidated dashboard that visualizes an organizations key metrics.
