Data warehouse is a central place where all the data relevant to an organization is kept. For example, a newspaper publication wants to keep track on their daily publication from the date they started work. In this case the organization will implement a data warehouse system, this is because a simple database is not capable of holding that amount of data.

A Data Warehouse contains several databases. So in simple language, we can say that the collection of databases into a single (central) place is known as data warehouse.
